Timp–Torne Loop

A rugged rollercoaster in the southeast corner of Harriman: short steep climbs, slabby overlooks and enough rock to teach your ankles something. A good stand-in for East Coast race terrain close to the city.

FootingClassic Harriman: rock, roots and a couple of short hands-on scrambles.

A sample training route, here to show the layout. The map and elevation come from an example GPS track, so treat the specifics as illustrative until a real one replaces it.

The loop stitches together several of Harriman’s blazed trails into a honest training circuit — nothing flat for long, a few overlooks worth stopping for, and the kind of technical footing that rewards practice before a rocky goal race. Run it clockwise for the steeper climbs early; reverse it when your legs want the descents to be gentler.
